Caroline Mardok is an award-winning French American visual artist whose work is centered around exploration of identity, race and activism. Her several long documentary projects in New York, mostly in Black and white, thread a narration through portraiture, street photography, and interviews to highlight social actions. Out of her body of work, she creates art projects on social issues. In the mural Not Tired Yet, the fight for justice from the Black and Trans women leaders of the 2020 protests in New York. In the photo sculpture park, In Honor of Black Lives Matter, a reflection on 8 panels on the renewed strength of the movement. Now, in the American Dream 100 feet mural, a multi media visual on public housing, climate challenges and the resilience of a community. She researches ways to make the viewer interact physically with the photographic medium: for ex, with the sculptures In honor of Black Lives Matter, passerby were enticed to go through the portals with their fist up, putting them in the powerful place of the protesters She has won many awards including Best Street Photographer from the 15th Margaret Cameron Award; her work has been acclaimed and featured on many media outlets, including the New York times, CBS and Artnet.
