Maciej Markowicz (1981) is a Polish born artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. After a childhood spent in his grandfather’s painting studio and his father’s metal shop, Markowicz pursued his creative passion in photography, studying in London, England, and New York. The artist’s current work intersects photography and design, forming a dialogue between the pictorial language of fine art and the intrinsically utilitarian nature of design. Markowicz is inspired by the basic principles of photography particularly a kind of drawing with light and the poetic and immaterial impressions of place.
