Hi, I am Mark, a freelance photographer born in USSR in 80′s. I moved to Israel in the age of 16, graduated high school there, studied graphic design for 3 years in academy and received my BA later. Right after I worked in local newspaper as a designer, but in a short time built strong reputation with my photography skills. My experience and knowledge of graphic design helped me a lot to progress in the field of freelance photography, later it became my full-time occupation.
For the last 10 years I was participating in several collaborative exhibitions in Israel, Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. Nowadays I'm living in Baku, Azerbaijan and traveling a lot around whole Caucasian region, where Georgia is my favourite. My main motives aimed at reporting and stroy-telling through photography, along with video and audio media.
Some of my projects cover topics of refugees, resettlements, conditions of living in regions, displaced people as a long post-war syndrome. Please, visit www.markrafaelov.com for recent long-term series, other details or contacts.
Many thanks.
