Based in France since 2009, I grew up in Eritrea and began photography as a self-taught artist before moving towards photoreportage. For several years I have been developing documentary projects on migration and exile, a way to keep track of the present but also to bear witness to the human condition. More broadly, my work questions social justice, dignity, and the value given to the Other, the one who is different, the one who arrives. Through photographic narratives, I explore what makes society; from experiences and stories where individual and collective trajectories meet, I seek to create bridges, proximity and propose new perspectives to apprehend reality. My work has been published in the national and international press and exhibited in different institutions.
