Michael Fung is a London UK based photographer and visual storyteller.

His career as a photographer has helped him work, on commissions and collaborations with some of the biggest names in the international Music, Art and Entertainment fields. Such as Contemporary and Light Artist Chris Levine, Model, Singer and Actress Grace Jones, Grammy award winning band Cage The Elephant, indie rock giants Razorlight and many more. His candid approach to his portraiture, journalistic lifestyle, and travel work. Is inspired by the vast international and diverse cultures, humans and landscapes he has encountered.

His lens is always at the ready to capture in a organic and spontaneous fashion, the surreal energy, diverse emotive human intimacy and the subtle nuances of life with the flare of photographic narrative and visual story telling. The photo journalistic with undertones of anthropology and humanistic approach, to his documentary and personal projects. Has seen him shoot projects in many international territories such as Cuba, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America parts of South East Asia and the USA and many more.

His current long term project and series “ism” is now in its fourth iteration having documented Cuba, India, Latin America and Africa. Shooting projects that document and explore such themes as, indigenous tribes and native peoples preservation of their sacred rituals and cultures, climate change, socialism, Cuban and African art movements, spirituality and wellbeing, equalism, eco activism and EDI  (equality, diversity and inclusion).

He is a passionate advocate for promoting inclusivity and diversity in the photography and creative industry for BAME / BIPOC photographers and creatives of colour and ethnicity

He works both in the mediums of digital and analogue photography.

His work has been published both in the UK and internationally in publications such as:

GQ, Tatler, Sotheby's, Wallpaper, Trebuchet, Euphoria, FAD magazines, Photo Vogue,The Independent, The Telegraph, Forbes, Visura, Scandanavia Standard, and Vista magazine Cuba 

His Documentary and Personal projects have been exhibited at The Norwegian National Museum of Photography - Preus Museum and Fotogalerie Friedrichshain Gallery-Berlin.
