Nica Guerrero is a photographer with a background in sociology. His work explores the joyful resilience and creativity of characters resisting the chaos and precariousness of Caracas. He has collaborated with Reuters, and his photographs have been published in different national and international media, such as The Atlantic, Clarín, La Presse, Sputnik, Página 12, Nodal, Últimas Noticias, and Revista Épale (Cover), among others. He is the official photographer of the project Ciudad Canción, a national and international platform that brings together singer-songwriters and poets around the idea of identity and liberating culture. He is a member of Cacri Photos, a Venezuelan photographic collective collectively expressing an alternative view of Caracas. As part of this collective, he participated in the group exhibition “Nuestro Oficio” at The People’s Forum headquarters (New York, 2019).
