Screen Hysteria
In a world where our lives are increasingly mediated by digital screens, Screen Hysteria dissects the relationship between technology and the self. Through conceptual self-portraits, it explores the psychological and emotional toll of my excessive screen use. Screen Hysteria captures the anxiety, isolation, and overstimulation that define modern digital existence, offering a visceral visual narrative on what it means to live in a world that demands constant engagement.
Structured in five acts, the series is intentionally monochrome, stripping away distractions to focus on digital fatigue's raw, almost dystopian emotions. Scientific research underscores how screen use triggers cravings for dopamine, a reward hormone that drives us to seek repeated pleasure. Screens, as endless sources of stimulation, offer fleeting satisfaction while depleting our emotional reserves.
This project is my confrontation with screen addiction, an exploration of emotions too intricate for words, and an act of reclaiming my life from the digital haze.
