En México la lucha libre no sólo se encuentra en las grandes arenas, los luchadores famosos, los autógrafos y los espectáculos costosos. Existe también un gremio de la población que disfruta de la lucha libre en el barrio, aquella que se hace en los vecindarios populares del Distrito Federal, donde los luchadores sin renombre se entregan al público y brindan una función de alto nivel sin importar qué les cueste, cuánto cueste o cuánto ganen. Una lucha libre que se caracteriza por tener rings en malas condiciones, con peligrosos saltos fuera de él, vestidores improvisados y, sobretodo, mucha pasión manifestada en el cariño que el público devuelve a cambio de acrobacias, sangre, sudor y folcklor mexicano.
