ABOUT MOPLA

In April 2009, the inaugural Month of Photography Los Angeles showcased the enormous photography community, inclusive of commercial, fine art and photojournalism. As the second largest photography community in the United States, Los Angeles provides a distinctive backdrop to the celebration of the photographic image.

Month of Photography Los Angeles was established and exists to advance the celebration of Photography through a variety of events and programs designed to inspire and invigorate the photography professional, enthusiast, emerging professional and collector.

THE MISSION

Month of Photography's two-fold mission is to advance dynamic programming designed to engage and stimulate the photography community, as well as to present a comprehensive resource of exhibitions and events in April.

THEME: CONNECTIONS

An official MOPLA event—Connections is a media presentation by Visura curated by Scott Thode. Part of Pro'jekt LA—the show will explore how we connect to everything around us. It can be about human connections, environmental connections, connections to objects, connections to animals, in other words, connections to just about anything and everything.

Connections is going to be a media presentation by Visura curated by Scott Thode and presented at MOPLA. The show will explore how we connect to everything around us. It can be about human connections, environmental connections, connections to objects, connections to animals, in other words, connections to just about anything and everything.

Note from Scott Thode:  I am interested in how we connect in the physical, spiritual, intellectual and any ways you can think of. These connections can be very real or extremely abstract. I want to see work that thinks outside the box and really explores this concept. Surprise and delight me. Challenge me. Have fun.
