Paola Serino "Summer Portraits"
Through the waves, water, symbolically the birthplace and mother's life, creates summer on the beach and a wonderful diversity of human beings. Their bodies, sometimes loved, sometimes not, carry on the story of their existence and reveal the complexity of life experiences: the protective tenderness of young love, strength, proud of being young, the difficulties of taking care of yourself that makes the body too light, trying to fool with a smile, the passage of time, the intransigence of the fates, the emptiness of the gaze, the satisfaction of leaving a sign in a life that will continue after us... With this work, that moves in the game of life and complexity of emotions, you could continue indefinitely... in the past, now and after while the sea runs in the background. The bodies lean, fat, treated or not, young, old, are the "envelope" that reveals the history of each one of us and reveals our soul that gracefully weaves feelings and relationships, and makes our lives rich.
Two photographers (Paola Serino a portrait photographer and Jean-Marc Caimi a photo-journalist) travelled along the Italian coastlines for a shared project of portraits titled "Coast to Coast".
This series of portraits represents a selection of work of Paola Serino.
