WFRM DRC
The World Family of Radio Maria is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and its founding member is the Italian Association Radio Maria. It is currently composed of forty national Associations associated members, present in just as many countries and scattered throughout the various continents, eleven of these in Africa.
Today Radio Maria broadcasts in more than 45 nations for millions of listeners in 13 languages.
The continual expansion of the radio is aimed at bringing its call for conversion to the entire world.
The radio is an extraordinary tool for spreading the Gospel, much more so than television because it can reach people everywhere: at home, work and in the car.
The aim is to meet the requests of those from all over the world, in order to create a worldwide Catholic radio network, with independent management for the individual national stations, but united and coherent with a religious inspiration, radio programming organization, reference to volunteering and financing from listener donations.
The radio also acts as an instrument of solace, offering words of comfort to those who are ill, alone, suffering in body and soul, to prisoners and the elderly. Although the target audience of Radio Maria listeners is well represented by listeners of varying ages and educational backgrounds, priority is clearly given to humble and simple souls which the Gospel speaks of.
