Pengkuei Ben Huang is a Toronto-based Taiwanese-Canadian Photographer. Born by a Chinese-Indonesian father and a second-generation Taiwanese mother, Ben migrated through many places before settling in Canada in 2005. He began to pursue photography while studying in the US and earned his BFA at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He was selected as one of the finalists for The Scotiabank Prize in 2007 at the Magnum Workshop in Toronto under the mentorship of the renowned photographer Larry Towell. His work has been recognized both at home in Canada and internationally. Through photography, he focuses on the relationship between human activities and the rapidly evolving nature around the globe.
