In 2009, I travelled to Cairo to participate in a conference on interculturalism. Apart from soaking in some local culture (food!), it was a great chance to let my eyes wander, walking around aimlessly or in a cab, navigating the choppy sea of traffic.
Life in Egypt literally spills onto the streets - its' alive, throbbing with the energy of people who have different things to do (including "nothing"). Its' very different from the organised Saturday morning shopping crowds of Europe.
Every day was different, yet the same. During this trip, I also realised I liked photographing people.
