Ruben E. Reyes (México D.F., 1979) is a Mexico City based photographer specialized in documentary photography. In 2008 he obtained a graduate degree from the International Center of Photography from the documentary/photojournalism program. Ruben lived overseas for 19 years before returning to his native Mexico. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and is a current candidate for an MFA in photography at the University of Hartford.

Ruben has traveled extensively through Europe, North America, and Australia, and most recently the Middle East. This has given him a sense of place from different cultures around the world, and is what inspires him to pursue photographic projects. He is currently working on a long term project based in Northern Mexico with the indigenous group called the Raramuri.

Ruben’s work has been exhibited at numerous galleries and venues in San Diego, California,  in Phoenix, Arizona, New York City and international exhibitions, including What We Saw - Pingyao Photo Festival in China (2008); D.U.M.B.O. Art Under The Bridge Festival (2008); What We Saw: Dialects - The International Center of Photography, New York (2010); TEDx CondesaRoma and White Spider - Mexico City, Mexico (2011); FOLILAB: 1ra Bienal - Lima, Peru (2012). He is also the recipient of the J&J-ICP Fellowship (2010).
