Luis Soto. Guatemala, 1982. Since July 2018 I live in Spain and I am an independent photographer. In Guatemala I collaborated for the Associated Press (AP) for five years, covering natural disasters, violence, general elections, presidential summits and migration. I was also a photo editor of Contrapoder magazine from 2013 to 2017. I collaborated for a year for the France-Press Agency (AFP) in 2012. I was a staff photographer from 2009 to 2013 for a newspaper El Periodico in Guatemala.

I have led in parallel personal projects related to documentary. The last one is "Jocotenango, a town of Indians", which is what I tell my daughter from images that where she was born and lived just a year and a half ago, was a town of Indians, where 240 years ago 1900 inhabitants were transferred to Build the new city of Guatemala.
