Growing up I knew that being an artist was going to be with me no matter what! I kept it hidden throughout my teenage years just making it a sacred practice. 2020 however was the day I decided I wanted to display my art to the world. This piece represents how I was feeling around the time I got started as a creator. Not only didn't my family didn't approve of me doing this as a career, but the group of peers I decided to hang around didn't really see me either. This piece represents the fight I went through with myself as well balancing the the thoughts of, "keep trying you got this" or "girl just give up who paying attention anyway". In the end (2024) I'm still going strong. I realize that you should just create for yourself and the real support will find you no matter what!
