Bewitched
New York City "Ten Years After"

I don’t know how it felt to be in New York before 9/11. The first time I stepped into the city was back in 2006. I’ve heard many stories about how it has changed since that day, and about how fast this center of the world has become a frozen area. It seems like the real meaning of the word freedom is being changed by fear.

I will never know how it was to be in New York before 9/11, but I can still sense it, I can see it, I can feel it through a current image, through all the experiences of the newyorkers that dance in front of my camera, right in front of me, giving me the chance to know, to ask how they feel inside this new City of New York.

And... why Bewitched? After almost a decade between New York and Mallorca, one is bewitched by not being in a place and being everywhere at the same time, by the long waits, by the search, by the temptation of escaping again... it's a timeless diary of my experiences in that city, where letting go and living inside the photographs is possible, where every second is part of the length of film necessary to tell, from the most refined truth, the misadventures that take place in the most characteristic scenery of the land of the opportunities.

"Bewitched" lies between reality and a "film noir", desire and fog... It brings uncertainty for the wait of what will be develop from the persecution of a crime that may have never happened, and for all the setbacks that may come up when one wakes up in a hotel with a rat prowling around the room and a funeral in the front door.
