I am a British-Nigerian self-taught Documentary photographer based in London. My personal projects and stories have mainly focused on historically marginalised African, Carribbean and Latinx communities in London and their relationship with issues surrounding gentrification and social inequalities.
My journey began in 2015 in Hong Kong, working mainly on street photography and documenting the city landscapes with creative twists and historical underpinnings. Continuing my love for street photography back in London, I've since developed a deep interest in the events and cultures that reflect collectivism, a sense of togetherness in a place inherently individualistic. I've since travelled and documented stories in Nigeria and Cuba that reflect cultural norms, and stories of individuals that not only are of personal interest, but stories that exuberate life where living styles differ from that of the UK.
On top of this, I’ve also facilitated Photovoice workshops for a student-led NGO called , that aims to bring about conversations surrounding social injustices in communities in Germany and South Africa.
My work has been featured in the Guardian, the Independent and Gal-Dem magazine. I’m also a regular contributor to Shado-magazine. My work has also been featured in a recent publication titled 'The Separated Isle' - a photobook of portraits that provide alternative perspectives on what it means to be British. My work has also featured as part of 'IFE NKILI', a new digital arts festival aimed at centring and celebrating the beauty of Black culture, identity and heritage through the creativity of Black women.
