Yahir Ceballos was born in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, in 1988.
Graduated from the Faculty of Communication Sciences and Techniques of the Veracruzana University (UV) in 2011. He has been involved in photography since 2008, specializing in covering news, cultural and environmental events.
First place winner of the National Nature Photography Contest, organized by Conabio, in the environmental impact category, in 2017.
Winner of the first place in the National Photography Contest "This is how peace looks in Mexico", organized by the civil association Paz Es, from Monterrey, Nuevo León, in 2010.
Founding member of the Trasluz Collective, he is currently a photographer at the AVC Noticias agency in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz and a correspondent in Veracruz for the magazine Proceso, as well as a collaborator with the international news agency Reuters.
In 2014 he founded and organized the MIRAR DISTINTO documentary and journalistic photography festival in Xalapa, Veracruz Mexico. His photographs have been published in various electronic, national and international media, for example: AVC Noticias, Revista Proceso, La Jornada, Milenio, El País, National Geographic, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and Reuters, among others.
