Hombres de mar is a photographic series that focuses on the fishermen of Veracruz and the development of their marine activities, under a narrative and aesthetic that make up an ode to the sea and those who spend a great part of their lives in it.

Sheltered by the first lights of the day, they embark daily on a quest that seems to be perpetually perpetual, there are those who dedicate their lives since childhood trying to have the perfect fishing that provides well-being to their families.

The main intention is to look at the daily life in a spectacular way, few people can see the exhibition that nature offers every morning in the sea, it is a call to remember who we are, and where we come from.

The project seeks to return to the figure of those who have been one of the most emblematic characters on the coasts of the port of Veracruz and Boca del Rio, who today are facing difficulties to survive given the shortage of fish in the Veracruz coast. Nowadays, being a fisherman on the coasts of Veracruz is more a cultural heritage than a business, most of the times they collect their empty networks and choose to look for a second job option.
