Zabed Hasnain Chowdhury is a visual storyteller and documentary photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Though he has completed his postgraduate degree in accounting, he is very passionate about photography. He started studying photography after completing his academic studies. He has studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Visual Journalism through a World Press Photo scholarship program at the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism (ACFJ) at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. He has completed the one-year photography program at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute.
He loves taking pictures from his childhood. Photography has always been one of his favorite hobbies. One of the reasons he enjoys it is because it gives him a healthy way to deal with stress. His uncle brought him a camera when he was in school. From then on, he started taking pictures. When he took a picture with his camera, he could see the world from a different perspective. When he went to new places, he used to take pictures on his camera. That gave him a different level of joy than in his childhood.
He started his photography journey as a freelancer. He has worked for his country, United News of Bangladesh (UNB), and Dhaka Courier (News Magazine). He works as a contract photographer for ZUMA Press, USA. also a contributor photographer for NurPhoto Agency, an Italy-based photo agency, and SOPA Images, a Hong Kong-based photo agency. His works have been published in many national and international newspapers and magazines, such as The New York Times, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, The Telegraph, The Washington Post, AP, Reuters, AFP, CNN, BBC, ESPN, Forbes, Business Insiders, ABC News, NPR, Fox News, Yahoo News, MSN, The Daily Mail, The Bulletin, The Tribune, The North Platte Telegraph, The China Post, The Indian Express, and The New Delhi Times.
