Jinwar means "women's land" in the Kurdish language. The village welcomes Syrian women and children, regardless of religion, ethnicity and political views. Syrian women in Jinwar rely on each other for farming and planting their own food.

Many civilians were killed and injured by IED while trying to escape the remaining Islamic state's areas in Raqqa city, the Islamic State are using the IED as a strategy to slow down the Raqqa offensive and to push back he US-backed local forces. The Battle of Raqqa was launched in June 2017 and is the fifth and final phase of the Raqqa Campaign launched by the SDF against occupying Islamic State.
Many civilians were killed and injured by IED while trying to escape the remaining Islamic state's areas in Raqqa city, the Islamic State are using the IED as a strategy to slow down the Raqqa offensive and to push back he US-backed local forces. The Battle of Raqqa was launched in June 2017 and is the fifth and final phase of the Raqqa Campaign launched by the SDF against occupying Islamic State.
