I have always sought to find a way to combine images with text using traditional photographic processes. During quarantine, without the ability to process film and without darkroom access, I experimented with making abstract shapes with cyanotype chemistry and adding typewritten text to the resulting images. Every aspect of the process was intuitive; from applying the chemistry to a large sheet of paper to choosing how to cut that paper down to 5x7 pieces to matching my own short written pieces to the patterns. It's very different than the controlled way in which I usually work, but I actually really enjoyed the freedom in it!
