If mountains could speak and had any say in their evolution did they start off wanting to be mountains?
Of course I know this is silly thought, but it is what I wondered when I saw these hills/mountains/munroes/rocks move past the passenger window of my car. Seeing them through the green and brown blur of roadsides bushes gave them a cinematic, "about to do something" look. Each one of them had their own quite powerful beauty and easy to imagine anthropomorphic personality. They were like frozen giants which made me smile as I contemplated; do mountains get jealous of other mountains?
The Highlands are renowned for their mountainous terrain and they share valleys as these massive rock creatures perch side by side like on some cyclopean, titanic, colossal, brobdingnagian couch.
