Children are often not listened to when they should be.
In the UK we are hearing a lot about the now dead 70's Kids TV presenter and DJ Jimmy Savile and it horrifies me to think that he got away with cruel and indecent acts on children and that their voices were not listened to. Why was this allowed to happen?
He was famous, he raised monies for children's charities he had some sort of bewitching charm, he was a celebrity which in some way gave him an 'access all areas' a free pass so to speak to abuse young children! I think not but somehow it did.
It sickens me to think that the poor children he abused did not have their voices heard. It sickens me to think he thought that these child victims were in someway too cute, too irrisistable so he had them!
Those that were brave enough to tell on this abuser were then not listened to by adults who said "they are too young to know what they were saying about him. He wouldn't do such a thing he raises a lot of money for charity and that would stop coming in"?!
I hope his victims find retribution and may Jimmy Saville, and those like him rot in hell.
