For more that forty years, Americas largest art parade has been held in Brooklyn, New York.  Celebrating Earth's celestial change from Spring, to Summer.  On the closest Saturday to the Summer Solstice, people of all persuasions and backgrounds create, and dress up in costumes that pay homage to beings called Mermaids.  The Parade is modeled after Coney Island Mardi Gras parades that were held during the early 20th century.  I've been documenting the parade since 2004.

Note that topless costumes are exhibited within these images.
