Hi everyone --

I wanted to take a moment to write these words down and share them with you all, my incredible supporters, partners, teammates, and friends.

Much of this was said at the opening of my new exhibition, Saving Face, but they felt too important not to share them with you all as well.

First, I want to say thank you. Thank you to all that have supported me over the years, especially over the last two years throughout the pandemic. I owe you more love and gratitude than I could ever express. I feel lucky that I have been able to turn my passion into something meaningful, and this extraordinary moment of being able to present this exhibit to the world feels a little surreal.

Lie countless people before me, my hope with this body of work was to capture some small piece of humanity, to reflect on what connect us, especially throughout this pandemic and the rollercoaster of emotions we have all felt during the darkest of the COVID-19 outbreak.

About Saving Face

During the most recent pandemic lockdown in Bangkok, there's been a wave of new, overwhelming waves of emotion. People are feeling scared, angry, anxious, and exhausted at the prospect of staring down another calendar of COVID-19. There's also this feeling of pressure as people feel unable to express their emotions publicly. In Thai society, people tend to hide their feelings to 'save face'.

Saving Face was created with analog and digital photography and processes, analog printing, experimental photography technique of multiple exposures, and laying along with film-soup to introduce a degree of unpredictability into the results, which might be likened to a watercolour painting.

My hope for this body of work is that it encourages others to express their feelings and consider the depth and mix of emotions we have all felt during the many lockdowns. Mental health is such a serious issue, and it is vital that we all speak about it freely, openly and honestly.

Saving Face is now running at the RCB Photographers' Gallery 2 of River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24, until Dec 5.

In Closing

Finally, I want to thank the following for believing in this project, in my, and for giving me the opportunity to share Saving Face with the world: ILFORD Imaging Thailand, Bloom Pro Lab, River City Bangkok, doTERRA Wellness Thailand by Jaruwan Pongleerat, and many others. Without them and all of you, this exhibition would not have been possible.

All of my love to each of you. I’m so excited for you to see this exhibition, and I can’t wait to start dreaming up the next one.

THANK YOU.
