Chidinma Nnorom

I developed an interest in the beauty and textures within the forms, the entrances, exits and windows. These elements look so simple, yet sophisticated in the context. Also, of note is the overall chaotic appearance amidst the aesthetics. In the course of this project, my interest grew from just the textural details and forms I see on the surface, to the humans within these spaces and structures because architecture isn’t just about the building, but also the people.

I see how vulnerable life is within the ‘earth’, represented by the colours (sand and clay). I see the humans as a form of architecture within an architecture. These textures and forms give me a lot of mixed feelings. Feelings of life, death, beauty, chaos, calm, the ordinariness of life and how sophisticated simplicity can be.
