There are those occasional moments you get intimate with locals when you first arrive somewhere. With Mateo and his friend, as well as some alcohol mixed in, I got a small introduction to rancheros and ranchero culture in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. And although he struggled to look me in the eyes, he wasn't afraid to share everything he had seen.
