I grew up near the Alexander Barracks in West Berlin, and the British troops stationed there had many ceremonies involving the Pipes, and that is when the Bagpipes touched me, as a boy." Dietmar has been been playing the Bagpipe or "Dudelsack", as they are called in German, since 2002. He reflects the love affair that Germans generally have with all things Scottish.
