The images that make up this project are the result of two years of accompaniment, in which I have sought to portray a large part of the struggle of seven indigenous Mazatec women from Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón, Oaxaca, to portray a large part of the struggle of seven indigenous.

They are seeking freedom for their loved ones, who have been political prisoners for seven years. For a year and 8 months they have maintained a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the Federal Judiciary Council in Mexico City, in addition to carrying out constant cultural activities, rallies, marches, an anti-prison day and rallies for freedom.

Las imágenes que conforman este proyecto son resultado de dos años de acompañamiento, en el cual he buscado retratar gran parte de la lucha de siete mujeres indígenas mazatecas de Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón, Oaxaca, quienes han buscando la libertad de sus seres queridos, presos políticos desde hace siete años. Logrando mantener por 1 año 8meses un plantón frente a la Sede del Consejo de la Judicatura Federal en Ciudad de México, además de realizar constantes actividades culturales, mítines, marchas, una Caravana por Oaxaca, jornada anticarcelarías y faenas por la libertad.
El origen del conflicto por el cual se encuentran presos, sucedió el 14 de diciembre de 2014, en el municipio de donde son originarias, cuando fue interrumpida y disuelta con una balacera, la asamblea comunitaria a punto de celebrar el nuevo nombramiento de Alcalde, en ella participaban 1.500 mujeres, hombres y representantes de la comunidad. Según palabras de las involucradas, la familia Zepeda se presentó como víctima construyendo falsos delitos contra 40 miembros que eran los más activos de la comunidad, seis mujeres incluidas. A la fecha, quedan seis presos políticos, Jaime Betanzos, Omar Morales, Alfredo Bolaños, Herminio Monfil, Fernando Gavito, Francisco Durán; pese a que existen a favor de los presos y desplazados por lo menos 19 resultados (sentencias) de libertad, y ocho amparos federales que ganaron desde el año 2016, ratificados con los números 56/2015 y 59/2019 de los Juzgados Segundo y Primero de Distrito con sede en Oaxaca. Todas las ordenes de aprehensión, así́ como los autos de formal prisión se han declarado ilegales y violatorios de derechos humanos.
