Here, I pose and direct my fath...t my peace during the pandemic.

Here, I pose and direct my father to communicate my inner conflict. Using a garbage bag and a flashlight, I demonstrate the dark thoughts of depression, an inner demon if you will, that haunt my peace during the pandemic.

Here, I pose and direct my brot...being in control of their body.

Here, I pose and direct my brother to communicate my inner conflict. I have him shirtless and stretching towards the light to emphasize periods of starvation and the euphoric bliss one may feel of being in control of their body.

Here, I pose and direct my fath...te feelings of shame and guilt.

Here, I pose and direct my father to communicate my inner conflict. Periods of binging lead to feelings of distress due to the lack of control one has over their body. I have my father face away from the viewer to replicate feelings of shame and guilt.

Here, I pose and direct my brot... such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here, I pose and direct my brother to communicate my inner conflict. In this out of focus portrait, I visualize the discomfort of depression, anxiety, and unease that come with having mental illness in periods of isolation, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this contemporary portrait series, the models’ poses, expressions, and environment symbolize my battle with depression and bulimia nervosa. Rather than a day to day struggle, I wanted to visually depict what it feels like at my lowest points.
