“I become a mother and stop sleeping through the night. Years go by, the child sleeps soundly in his bed but I still wake at every noise,” Sierra writes. “My father comes to live with us and all of a sudden I am a mother to everyone.”
Her images depict vivid, sometimes unsettling fragments of life, where monsters are confronted rather than escaped, and where the lines between dreams and reality dissolve. Shot in saturated tones and composed with cinematic attention, the series offers a poetic meditation on what it means to care, to fear, and to endure.
This compelling body of work reflects the emotional landscape of caregiving—tenderness, joy, anxiety, and a constant awareness of what could be lost.
