Summary
Artist and intuitive photographer J.Genevieve explores their portfolio through a series of narratives based on color. This series features the emotion, texture and language of deep blue.
It makes sense to begin with blue of the deepest variations - indigo, navy, midnight. While I may be housed in a white body, my soul is most certainly this deep searing shade of shadow. It is the color I know best and will always return home to. Color psychology offers one perspective on these hues but I know it to represent freedom, movement, depth, a fierce primal instinct to guard what is most vulnerable and the wild call of exploration.

This study involves both visuals and a written expressions for you to both immerse and indulge yourself in.

MY SOUL IS BLUE AND OH HOW SHE MOVES
J.Genevieve

Neon perspective murmured knowingly from the worn fading page
“I see what others can’t”

Embodiment
drawn from the surface where I danced you free
embedding her
unseen
but for a sideways glance when all aligns just so

Fabrication hurled with every bit of might
across the fucking room to meet the wall
as I did
both crumpling to the ground
the intoxicating scent of an illusion trailing too close behind
(Some things are better left there)

Now
illuminated by the glow set two hours fast
advancing with pace of the curve of the orb to my left
spurred by the rise and fall of wonder on your chest
which somehow reassures that regardless of it all

I was
and am

made to dive and soar more often than I surface
assuming only the shape of the shade as it moves past the unassuming sign behind the station
which
by the way
I will always have an appetite for
yet won’t ever return to because the ache in my gut
was
not
worth
 it

through streaks of rebellion and pigment and sweat

        beneath the visible

                                    into its

- my -
