Eres Luz
Summary
"Eres Luz" is a recognition of the life and work of the Colombian artist Lucero Bueno, my mother.
Sourced from a collection of personal archives, photographs I´ve taken and photographs of her artwork taken throughout her artistic career, I used various digital tools to create collages and photocompositions that merge the artist´s portraits with photographs of her work. The resulting images highlight the long, laborious, intense, loving, and, above all, heartfelt journey that Lucero Bueno has taken with her life.
Her works are based on the recovery and recycling of materials such as iron and glass, transforming them into new objects and sculptures that reflect her childhood in Valle, as well as her experiences in Bogotá. The Colombian conflict and the destruction of nature profoundly shaped her work, driving her to produce pieces that offered ways of coexisting and coping with the Colombian reality.
Her work is intimately linked to nature, women, and the joy of being alive.
