Constructed in 1965, the Tai Hang Sai Estate was originally designed to provide housing for residents displaced by the clearance of the Tai Hang Sai Resettlement Area. Offering over 1,600 units at below-market rates, it stands as Hong Kong's sole privately-owned low-rental housing estate. Currently, plans are in place to demolish and redevelop the estate, with completion estimated for 2029. The redevelopment is expected to provide more than 3,300 units.
