Photographing on assignment with the GraffitiPress team to cover the Pride Parade 2007 in the Italian capital, Rome. Predating an era of openness, one of the assignment's constraints was to not have any recognisable faces in the photos, for fear of exploiting or outing someone, or worse, singling out someone and leaving them vulnerable to potential homophobic hate. The photographs were used for spot news and community newspapers in Italy.
