Iran's population reached 80 million in 2016. More than two-thirds of the Iranians are under the age of 30, and the literacy rate stands above 80%.
Education in Iran is highly centralized and is divided into K-12 education and higher education. K-12 education is supervised by the Ministry of Education and higher education is under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
There are, approximately, a thousand students are studying in 75 schools in Talesh City Mountains (Guilan province, Iran). Students of these schools have a long distance to get to school. Due to the small number of students in these classes consists of several classes in one class. Most of these schools have a teacher called the teacher-head master, who is both a headmaster and a teacher.
Most of these children study until the 6th grade, and then leave school and take on the occupation of their fathers, who are engaged in agriculture and livestock.
These photos have been taken in Talesh City Mountains(Guilan Province) between 2008-2018.
