Portrait winner of Portrait of Humanity by The British Journal of Photography!

One of the portraits from the series "Black Lancers" that I did for National Geographic Brasil last year is one of the winners of the Portrait of Humanity promoted by The British Journal of Photography and is featured in the book that has just been released.
Valéria Barcellos is a multidisciplinary transgender artist who focuses on the inclusion of trans people in society. This is one of a series of portraits featuring black leaders of the local community, referencing the Black Lancers of the Farroupilha Revolution in Brazil in the mid-19th century and emphasizing the potential of the black population.
