This series began before the 2020 NYC shutdown is still ongoing. It began as a way to document the progression of mask-wearing and the early days of the pandemic but became something more. As private and public spaces changed, personal space did as well. The packed trains became barely occupied. The streets became nearly empty. People shrank from contact with each other every day, and the tension was palpable.
