Kiko, Alexandre, Lano, Edielson, Marcelo and André are the names of the victims of a slaughter in the beginning of the 1990s in the city of Diadema, state of São Paulo, Brazil. As an homage, their initials form the name Kaleman, a space created for leisure and the home of street basketball in the city. Nowadays, if you arrive on a Tuesday or Thursday night, you will find highly competitive pick up basketball games. Throughout the years, the Kaleman has built a huge basketball tradition, reaching national and international attention through social media.

Without any frequent help from the city whatsoever, cleaning and fixing the court has become an unfortunate tradition for those that often use the space, using their own money to maintain the court. Many players who grew up in the area were able to make a living out of the sport, becoming professionals or through other means, and many of them use this opportunity to share their knowledge to younger adults who want to pursue a career in basketball, with the hope of making a positive impact in their lives.
