Mother Teresa, in the world Agnes Gonje Boyagiu, is a Catholic nun who has lived almost all her life in Calcutta, where she worked helping the poor and sick. She died on September 5, 1997 leaving rather a large legacy.

The main brainchild of Teresa was the monastic congregation of the Sisters of the Missionaries of Love - in Catholicism, this is the name of the monastic association, which does not have the status of an order. The purpose of the congregation, founded by Mother Teresa in 1948, was to help the disadvantaged in Calcutta. The sisters provide assistance regardless of nationality and religion. The constitution of the congregation of sisters was written by Mother Teresa herself. She formulated four vows for the sisters: obedience, mercy, poverty, service to the poorest of the poor. Nuns should live as ascetically as their wards live. Over time, there were more nuns, their activities spread to other cities in India, and then throughout the world. In 2018, the congregation had more than five thousand nuns in its ranks with more than a hundred houses of mercy. The main house of mercy of the sisters is in Calcutta.

These women have neither the money nor the political connections that Teresa may have had, if the critical articles about her are to be believed. They have only hands, time, love and a clear understanding that this world can be made brighter by alleviating the suffering of the needy. For me, these women are the hands of Teresa, they are the executors of God's will, and no criticism can change my mind that those who need help do not deserve it.
