Suzannah Gabriel’s Not My Hair series from the award-winning 2021 project Black Hurts is now on display at the London College of Fashion. This striking body of work blends photography and embroidery to explore the politics, pain, and power surrounding Black hair.

Through layered visual storytelling, Not My Hair challenges societal perceptions and honours personal narratives, making it a key part of Gabriel’s ongoing commitment to cultural documentation and identity-led artistry.

The exhibition invites viewers to engage with the complexities of beauty, race, and resistance through a multidisciplinary lens.
