Suzannah Gabriel’s Strong Black Woman, from her project Black Hurts (2021), was exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London as part of a special one-night-only showcase.

Curated by GUAP Magazine in celebration of the GUAP Gala, the exhibition aligned with the V&A’s Late Night programming and featured emerging voices redefining Black British creativity. Gabriel’s piece interrogates the cultural weight of the "strong Black woman" trope through powerful portraiture and layered visual symbolism.

The display marked a significant moment in the ongoing journey of Black Hurts, bringing Suzannah’s work into one of the world’s most iconic cultural institutions.
