Sabas and Norma are a couple belonging to the Wayuu Ipuana clan and live in the Loma Fresca community, located in La Guajira, Colombia. He is an Alijuna, which means stranger in the Wayuunaiki language, and she is the leader of this community on the shores of the Navío Quebrado Lagoon, within the Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary.
Norma is in charge of educating the Wayuu children of the community and their tasks as a leader while Sabas, along with other members of the community, ensures the safety of the habitat in which hundreds of flamingos live and thus preserve this protected area from tourism. mass and the exploitation of its resources.
Thanks to this work carried out by the Wayuu community, this protected area has managed to once again have a rich and diverse flora and fauna after a few decades ago, it was about to disappear.
