"The woods are lovely, dark and deep," though perhaps less so than when Frost wrote those words in 1922. I don't know when this old growth patch was cut, but the first logging roads in this particular area were opened in 1870 and most of the forest of North Vancouver, that had stood for countless generations, was slashed in the following half century.
