TURKMEN BRIDES
The Turkmens migrated to Iran about 900 years ago during the Seljuk era and settled in the region (Turkmen Sahra of Iran) and now live in the three northern cities of Iran, Golestan, Mazandaran, and Khorasan, with a population of about 2 million.
After the arrival of Islam in Iran, the Turkmen were the first group to convert to Islam.
These people were nomads and had nomadic life, and they mostly raised livestock, which gradually turned to living in the countryside and urbanization.
They passed on their culture and literature to next generations through their families and are among the few Iranian peoples who have been able to preserve many of their traditional customs and originality to this day.
One of the most important customs in the Turkmen people is marriage. Marriage is very important for families economically
Turkmens consider marriage to be a way of life, and since marriage gives birth to children and increases family and clan power, it is very important and valuable to them. Among these people, marriage is a contract that is made between two families and has its own rules.
Marriage between Turkmens is important because it reduces an active member of the family (the bride) from her family and adds to the groom's family. Therefore, the groom's family should pay (money or camels or food) to the family of the bride .
One of the reasons why the traditional ritual of this tribe is still preserved is that Turkmen girls should only marry with men of their own tribe.
In the past, the age of marriage for girls was between 9 and 10 years old, but today this custom has changed.
Many of the turkemen traditions are changing today, and it is possible that these customs will be forgotten in the near future.
Turkmen brides is story of turkmen girls on their wedding day .A day that has been the dream of many Turkmen girls.
This project has been taken in two regions of Iran and is still ongoing .
