Visual technologies in modernity, with their potential for reproducibility, have radically transformed the way we look, relate and understand our contemporary societies. The forms of domination and control, also manifested in the hegemonic (visual) languages of capitalist modernity, lead us to try to reflect on some invisible images and stories that challenge these regimes from heterogeneous processes of realization, from their place of enunciation. The inequality and asymmetry existing in today's world must be thought of in terms of the production of images (scarce or passing, the further we move away from the centers of power), including their forms of representation. Not only because visual discourses have been constructed plagued by stereotypes, exoticisms and mythification of otherness, but also because the dominant historicization has implied a centralization that has excluded the microhistories of regions and communities. The dominant visual modernity -white, classist and racializing-, bounded by the convenience of its self-absorption, has left singular populations out of the sensorial map, making their oral, visual and creative histories invisible.
