Kakhovka Dam Breach Aftermath (Ukraine 2023)

By June 21, 58 people were reported to have been killed and 31 were missing by the officials, and 40,000 people located in Ukrainian and Russian-controlled territory were impacted by the dam breach. On June 15, the flood water level in Kherson Oblast decreased to 1.98 meters, according to the regional administration. Kherson, the city that used to be occupied by Russian forces, was liberated last November by Ukrainian forces, had a population of 279,131 (2022 est.) before the full-scale invasion in 2022.
