From Robert Seidel's Biography: Robert Seidel, *1983 in Grimma, lives and works in Leipzig, studied under Professor Neo Rauch at the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig. Robert Seidel's works, mostly egg tempera on canvas, are figurative - narrative and are characterised by an independent canon of colour and form.Robert Seidel's works are represented by the ASPN Gallery in Leipzig and Gerhard Hofland in Amsterdam. Recent awards include Artist in Residence Drents Museum in Assen, Netherlands (2023); Artist in Residence Eisenhammer, Schlepzig 2021; Travel Award, National Portrait Gallery, London (2018); Artist in Residence, ESMoA, Los Angeles (2017); Marianne-Defet-Malerei-Stipendium, Nuremberg (2015) and De Ateliers short track artist residency (DASTR), Amsterdam (2013). Seidel's works are represented in numerous collections, including the Hildebrand Collection/Leipzig, the Westhoff Collection/Wiesbaden, the Collection of the European Central Bank/Frankfurt a. M., the Drents Museum Collection/Assen, Netherlands and the Collection of the Ostsächsische Sparkassenstiftung/Dresden.
